‘The View’ Fans Were Left Scrambling for Answers This Week

The View” fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment regarding the celebrated talk show’s impromptu hiatus. The series, headlined by hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro, stopped airing new episodes earlier this week without any prior notice. This has prompted long-term viewers of the show to showcase their frustration with the abrupt change on the internet.

The View will take a break on July 4 and fans are talking

In a surprising turn of events, “The View” unexpectedly went off air on Monday, June 29, with ABC airing reruns instead of new episodes.

As such, dedicated fans of the talk show understandably posed questions regarding the mix-up, with one Reddit user asking, “When is the show back from break?” (via Irish Star). Another fan seemed irritated by The View’s hiatus, writing, “So annoying that they’re off again, ugh.”

While ABC did not give a prior explanation behind the series’ sudden break, it has now been confirmed that “The View” hasn’t aired any new episode this week due to the upcoming July 4 celebrations. The hosts and crew have taken a temporary leave in the wake of the country’s 250th anniversary of independence.

As such, “The View” will promptly return with live episodes on July 6. However, this reasoning did not stop fans from taking shots at the long-running talk show. One viewer sarcastically noted, “Must be nice to get so many vacation days.” Another fan attempted to calculate when “The View” could go on its next hiatus, stating, “Looks like they back on July 6, then they take August off and come back after Labor Day. But i think their last day might be July 24.”

The View’s July 6 return will also see comedian and actress Michelle Buteau join the show’s panel as a special guest. Buteau has guest-starred on “The View” on multiple occasions in the past, with her most recent appearance coming in 2024.
