A new report has called Prince Harry’s alleged plans to return to the UK a “bear trap.” The warning stems directly from his unresolved disputes over security arrangements. The description surfaced as speculation grows around the Duke of Sussex making a trip to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children.
Prince Harry’s alleged new UK trip plans slammed by reporter as ‘disaster’
A reporter has sharply criticized Prince Harry’s rumored upcoming trip to the UK, calling the potential visit a “disaster” given unresolved security concerns.
Plans for him and Meghan Markle to travel from the United States to the UK with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were in place, yet the likelihood of the trip is now in doubt. Reports suggest that the 41-year-old Prince began rethinking the trip once police security was refused.
The decision threw the Sussexes’ arrangements into disarray only days ahead of their expected departure. Mark Dolan of TalkTV stated, “Why would they say they’re coming and then potentially not – that’s a bear trap.”
Additionally, speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Podcast, royal reporter Bronte Coy expressed astonishment at what unfolded over the weekend. She found it surprising because the team had mapped out a careful UK reputation campaign weeks earlier.
Coy further highlighted that they had already made arrangements for their visit. The visit was set to include a major promotional push for the Invictus Games. The trip also aimed to drive a reconciliation, with the children expected to meet King Charles.
“For this to then come apart so quickly and in such a catastrophic way, no matter what happens – it is already a disaster now,” she added.
A representative for the Sussexes stated that Prince Harry continues to look into every possible way to ensure the visit happens safely and to let his children spend time in the UK. The royal household has reportedly offered them housing on a royal estate for the trip, which provides built-in security. However, questions remain about keeping the family protected when they travel outside the estate.
