White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Claims Gen Z Is Plagued by ‘Laziness’ and ‘Liberal Indoctrination’

Karoline Leavitt, 28, accused Gen Z of growing up with “silver spoons in their mouths.” The White House Press Secretary claimed many younger Americans are affected by what she described as “laziness” and “liberal indoctrination.”

Karoline Leavitt argues laziness and liberal indoctrination are holding back younger Americans

On the July 2 episode of Jesse Watters Primetime, Leavitt agreed with Fox News host Watters that young adults have “never had real jobs and they’re complaining things are expensive in the U.S.,” reports OK! Magazine.

The political spokesperson, who resumed her duties after two months of maternity leave following the birth of her second child in May, said, “Unfortunately, I do because this generation, my generation, I hate to say it, Gen Z and those younger than me have been raised with just silver spoons in their mouths, just getting everything handed to them. That’s not the values this country was built on. It was built on meritocracy and hard work, pulling up your sleeves, pulling yourself up from your bootstraps, and achieving the American dream, and we need to protect it with all we’ve got.”

She then said, “It’s laziness, and it’s liberal indoctrination. You bring up a great point about our education system.” She said many parents across the country are choosing homeschooling, private schools, and Christian schools because they do not want their children exposed to what she characterized as “communist and liberal ideas” in the classroom.

According to The Daily Beast, Generation Z has grown increasingly dissatisfied amid challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, underemployment, war, tariffs, and automation, with underemployment remaining a major concern.

A CNBC and SurveyMonkey survey found that 42 percent of Gen Z say the American Dream is only attainable for some, and only 22 percent say they’ve achieved it. On the other hand, 68 percent of baby boomers, the generation that includes President Donald Trump, believe they have achieved their version of the American Dream.
