Prince Harry is back in the UK, and a new report reveals what the visit means to him personally. The Duke of Sussex arrived in Britain on July 6 for a five-day stay running through July 11. His wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, did not join him, amid ongoing conversations about security.
Here’s how Prince Harry reportedly felt after returning to the UK
Prince Harry reportedly returned to the UK in good spirits, finding comfort in being back on home soil.
Kicking off his latest UK visit, the Duke of Sussex made his first appearance in London on Monday, July 6, to support a friend. He was photographed beaming beside Misan Harriman at the debut screening of Harriman’s documentary Shoot the People.
Harry smiled alongside Harriman to honor the UK premiere of his friend’s documentary. The group photo shared by Watermelon Pictures on Instagram also featured filmmaker Andy Mundy-Castle and writer and broadcaster Afua Hirsch.
Harriman has long been part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s inner circle. He captured the black-and-white photo that the couple released in February 2021 to announce their second pregnancy.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes told PEOPLE, “He was at last night’s premiere to support his good friend Misan and his brilliant new film Shoot the People.” They said that on Tuesday, July 7, the Duke “was in good form last night,” following his arrival in the UK on Monday afternoon. “He’s really happy to be back in the U.K. and really looking forward to the week’s engagements.”
Prince Harry’s appearance came after he arrived in the UK without Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet. He’s scheduled for a week of charity-related events, including the countdown celebrations for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
The couple had initially said that they would bring their two children back to the UK in July for the first time since 2022. But on Saturday, July 4, their spokesperson announced that the Duchess and the Sussex children would not join the Duke in London. There’s still no word on whether they’ll meet him for other stops on his trip outside the capital.
