Kathy Griffin introduced her 22-year-old boyfriend on Instagram and immediately ignited discussion about their 43-year age gap
Griffin’s latest partner may be the youngest person she has publicly dated. The man whose photo she shared on Instagram is said to be 22 years old, making him 43 years younger than the comedian. Griffin captioned the post, “He’s 22. Have at it, internet.”
The internet did “have at it,” but with surprisingly supportive comments. Courtney Stodden, who has also spoken publicly about age-gap relationships, was quick to support Griffin. Stodden wrote, “You’ll always be hot.” Another user commented, “Enjoy. Just don’t talk about Tv shows or music,” while a third quipped, “Get it momma.”
According to news.com.au, Griffin has been very open about her relationships. In the past, she shared a photo with a man who appeared closer to her age. She captioned the post, “We’re insta official. Deal with it.” The post has since been deleted, suggesting the relationship has ended.
Writing for The Cut in December 2025, Griffin reflected on dating a younger man. She wrote, “I accidentally fell in love with a 23-year-old. Because of his age, he didn’t have the usual sexism, misogyny, and biases that guys my age tend to have. He seemed to see me. I know that sounds really corny. Oh God, it sounds so lame! But I felt really comfortable with him, and I felt very content just hanging out.” She added, “I knew he was too young when he told me he never wanted to have kids and that he could be with me forever. And I was like: ‘You don’t know that. You’re 23. You have no idea.’”
Griffin was previously married to marketing executive Matt Moline. She later married Randy Bick before the couple divorced in 2024.
