Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Included King Charles in a ‘Secret’ Backup Plan — Insider

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly had a backup plan in case their meeting with King Charles, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, did not happen. The Sussexes finally reunited with the King, marking the family’s first meeting in four years. The private reunion took place at Highgrove House, the King’s country residence in England. While the meeting reportedly went well, sources suggest that the Sussexes had a plan in place in case the long-awaited reunion never materialized.

Sources claim the couple hopes to meet King Charles outside the U.K. under total secrecy

A report by Closer Online suggests that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had hoped to arrange a meeting with King Charles outside the UK if their planned reunion did not take place. Harry recently visited the UK to promote the Invictus Games. He was later joined by Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The family eventually reunited with Charles and Queen Camilla on July 10 at Highgrove House. It is the King’s private country residence in England. Initially, there was speculation that the meeting might not happen. This was because Harry reportedly had concerns about the security arrangements for his family.

The reunion carried special significance as it marked the first time in four years that the King met his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet. While the meeting reportedly went well, sources claim the Sussexes had a backup plan in case it fell through.

According to the report, Harry and Markle had planned to arrange a private reunion with the King outside the UK in “total secrecy” if their children were unable to meet their grandfather during the visit. The source added that the Sussexes appreciate the love and warmth King Charles has shown toward Archie and Lilibet. They have the utmost respect for that.

The insider further claimed that, at this stage, the couple is unsure whom they can trust. They reportedly want their children away from an environment where they do not feel entirely welcome.

However, with the long-awaited family reunion now having taken place, it appears that the reported backup plan is no longer needed.
