Sources claim the actor feels years of family conflict have left his children viewing him as the ‘villain’
Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt and Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt filed petitions in California to change their names legally. California law requires people seeking a legal name change to publish notices in a newspaper so anyone with objections can respond. The notices appeared several times in the Los Angeles Daily Journal. Sources also claimed that Pitt does not plan to challenge the requests because he respects his children’s decisions.
The Brad Pitt children feud dates back to Pitt and Jolie’s 2016 split, which ended in 2024 after an eight-year legal battle. They divorced after an airplane accident and charges of abuse that Pitt has never admitted. Pitt was never charged with a crime and was cleared after an investigation by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
The Daily Mail reported that the children still struggle to forgive Pitt because of what they witnessed during their parents’ marriage. The kids feel Jolie helped them build careers and made a supportive home, but Pitt did not do that. Sources close to Pitt have denied that, instead accused Jolie of excluding him from those talks and running a campaign that harmed his relationship with the kids over the years.
The former couple also continue their legal fight over Château Miraval, the French winery where they married in 2014. Sources said that some of the children believe the dispute has hurt their mother. While another source claimed Pitt challenged the sale because it affected their future inheritance. The report added that Pitt still hopes they will welcome him back into their lives one day.
