Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez’s romance is reported to be “not serious” at the moment. According to a source, the duo has been taking their reunion slow. They have been spotted together in public. However, they have not addressed their rekindled romance rumors openly. For those unversed, the pop star and her former backup dancer dated for a year in 2015.
Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez are ‘not jumping into anything serious right away’ amid romance, per source
Rumors of Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez’s rekindled romance have once again caught attention. A source told PEOPLE that the two might not be “jumping into anything serious right away.” They would reportedly take their relationship “very slowly.”
According to the insider, the singer has always considered Alvarez a “friend” and has never held any “ill will” against him, even after their breakup. “Ricky is dependable, trustworthy and very supportive. Ariana feels she can be herself around Ricky,” they said.
Therefore, Grande seemed to be “happy to have him back in her life.” Despite their reunion, the duo would allegedly not start a serious relationship right away. It might be because the Disney star and Ethan Slater had split last month, ending their three-year relationship.
Meanwhile, Grande and Alvarez were together from 2015 to 2016. The 33-year-old had mentioned his name alongside her exes in her 2018 song “Thank U, Next.” The lyrics were like: “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.”
Since the latest rumors of a rekindled romance, she has changed the lines multiple times. During her ongoing Eternal Sunshine Tour, she sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he’s still got my back.” Last week, the second part of the lines changed to “And they still kinda slap.” At the July 13 concert, Grande tweaked it again and sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.”
