According to HeatWorld, King Charles wants Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to revisit the U.K. to spend more time with his grandkids. The insider shared that the monarch was “charmed” by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet and “wants to be able to spend more time with them going forward.” Moreover, the 77-year-old king “got his heart set on George and Charlotte and Louis having that opportunity as well.”
“He would love for Harry and Meghan to bring them over for Christmas,” the source said. Charles wants “them all to celebrate together as a happy family but considering the state of things as they are now that is highly unlikely.” The insider continued, “Still, he’s holding out hope that something could change.”
Previously, the outlet reported that the king took personal charge of arrangements for the Sussexes’ recent trip to Britain. The monarch also oversaw security and accommodation to ensure the comfort of the Sussexes. However, he reportedly made it clear to Harry to keep the reunion free of drama.
“Charles has gone above and beyond to make this visit happen, but nobody should mistake that for blind trust,” an insider said. “The reality is that he’s taking a huge chance and he knows it.” The king had also clarified to Harry that the trip cannot be used for “personal gain.” The individual added, “If he sees any cameras or gets a whiff of troublemaking that will be the end of things. Charles is willing to extend an olive branch, but he’s not willing to be embarrassed or blindsided again.”
