Journalist Nelson Aspen, along with Will Kingston, discussed the Sussexes’ Hollywood struggles and how they need a major rebranding effort. Aspen alleged that Meghan Markle could have been “sad” as her return to the UK was not captured publicly.
He said, “However, she said she would let Harry lead the way and she was very supportive of him, and I think it’s wonderful that your king somehow managed to wait them out and play them like a fiddle.” He further mentioned that the couple does need a “reinvention” as they struggle to keep their footing in Hollywood.
Aspen noted that Prince Harry is likely trying to get back into the royal family’s good graces. The expert added that the reunion was the perfect opportunity to take a step in that direction. Kingston argued that both Sussexes constantly attempt to reinvent themselves publicly through various projects. Those efforts, however, appear to fail repeatedly.
He claimed that “neither of them has a great deal of talent” required to sustain long-term success in the industry. However, he believes that the Invictus Games do contribute slightly positively to their rebranding. Aspen then pointed out Harry’s financial difficulties with the Invictus Games. He noted how several people want him removed from it.
“So he definitely needs a parachute, and banking on Hollywood may have seemed like a great idea six years ago, but it’s not working out so well now – especially when their A-list friends in Montecito don’t want to be seen with them. It’s rather toxic to be seen with them from a celebrity point of view. Invictus is different. Of course his lineage still is there, will always be there, so he is wise to use that as a backup plan, and I think he’s seriously looking at it,” he continued.
Aspen mentioned that whether the reunion was successful or not is up for debate. The monarchs hosted them well and might as well release photos when they want. He believes that it was very “strategic” from everyone, describing it as “a giant game of chess.” (via Daily Express).
