Jon Bon Jovi left fans confused and heartbroken after abruptly cutting short his New York City concert on July 23. He stopped his set after performing his hit “Livin’ On a Prayer” with Train’s Pat Monahan at Madison Square Garden. The 64-year-old rocker then apologized to his fans from the stage and promised to reschedule.

The Bon Jovi singer was roughly 90 minutes into his set at the eighth show of the band’s nine-night residency at Madison Square Garden when he brought the concert to an early end.
On Thursday, following a performance of “Livin’ on a Prayer,” Bon Jovi halted his set, blaming his sinus infection. “I’m sorry, I’m hurt, and you’re not getting the best of me,” the rocker apologized to the crowd, according to Page Six.
However, before leaving the stage, the singer reassured fans that he would eventually reschedule the show. “Don’t throw away your ticket stubs, I’m gonna figure something out, OK?” he said. “Just hold onto it, we’ll figure out how to reschedule. But I’m gonna have to cool it for the night.”
He added that he felt “great” overall before exiting to applause, hugging his bandmates and giving the audience a thumbs-up on his way out.
A spokesperson for Bon Jovi later confirmed to Page Six that the singer had been battling a sinus infection, which led to the show’s abrupt ending.
The rocker underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022 after being told by doctors that one of his cords was atrophying. This Jon Bon Jovi NYC concert was his triumphant comeback. Earlier in the tour, the band also cut a Pittsburgh show short after Bon Jovi dealt with a sore throat. That performance ended roughly after 90 minutes as well.
