The husband of a Real Housewives of Rhode Island star is fighting thousands of dollars in fines and liens attached to one of his properties in North Providence, Rhode Island. The man in question is Gary Tiberi. Gary purchased this property in 2010, several years before he married his RHORI wife, Jo-Ellen Tiberi. And now, this property has Gary pleading for mercy in court, hoping to have all attached fines reduced.

One of their co-stars accused Gary and Jo-Ellen of being swingers during the series premiere of RHORI. But now, Gary has some new accusations to wade through. And these accusations will cost him a pretty penny. According to The Valley Breeze, Gary currently owes the town of North Providence over $5,000.
The city actually notified Gary that he was on their radar back in June of 2025. They sent him a letter from the desk of Minimum Housing Inspector Anthony Napolitano, stating that he violated the Rhode Island Property Maintenance Code. This letter apparently cited exterior sanitation, weeds, and the accumulation of garbage outside his rental property. They attached photos to this letter that supposedly proved their point.
Evidently, Gary failed to respond. He also ignored a second notice, so he was ordered to appear in court last October. But as the outlet reported, Gary was a no-show here as well. Gary then failed to appear a second time in November, so the city placed a “clean and lien” on his property.
This action means that a city or town is allowed to step onto the property to clean it up, while charging the owner for the services rendered. The North Providence Department of Public Works tackled this job, charging Gary $4,395 for their time. An additional lien of $1,500 brought him to $5,895.
After missing another court date, Gary finally appeared in January. As he said, he had to evict a bad tenant. And after that, he began working on the lot.
In March, the court agreed to reduce his fee by $1,000. Gary is still sorting this mess out in North Providence.
