The Prince and Princess of Wales, meanwhile, allegedly feel that the trust lost over the years cannot simply be restored.

It seems King Charles is still hoping to heal the divide within the Royal Family. An insider claimed the monarch is looking beyond the current tensions. They said King Charles believes Prince Harry’s children should not be left out of the monarchy’s future.
A source cited by Closer Online said Charles “doesn’t see Archie and Lilibet as outsiders”; rather, he views them as an important part of the family’s next generation. According to the insider, the King believes that if relationships can be rebuilt, the siblings “could eventually help strengthen the monarchy.”
Additionally, the source reported that the monarch views the issue from a long-term perspective. They claimed that he believes “every generation” has a role to play in “protecting the Crown.” Because of that, sources say, King Charles wants Harry’s children to remain “connected to royal life” rather than grow further apart from the family.
As a result, Charles is apparently continuing to push for reconciliation. The insider added the King has even suggested bringing the Waleses and the Sussexes together at Balmoral to rebuild communication and slowly bridge the divide between the two households.
However, the proposal has reportedly failed to gain support from Prince William and Kate Middleton. “William and Kate have consistently told him, ‘This plan won’t work,'” the source claimed. According to the insider, the couple believes repairing family relationships requires rebuilding trust first. But they do not feel they have reached that point.
The source further claimed that William and Middleton understand why Charles continues to pursue reconciliation. However, they believe the past cannot simply be overlooked for the sake of the institution.
“They understand why Charles keeps trying,” the insider said. “But every time the conversation comes up, they reach the same conclusion – their feeling is there’s no way back.”
