President Donald Trump departed for a West Coast getaway on Tuesday. His longtime aide Natalie Harp travelled with him once again. Cameras caught Harp climbing aboard Marine One near the White House, a red backpack slung over her shoulder. The trip takes the 80-year-old president to Los Angeles first, then Las Vegas.

Southern California rarely sees Trump in person, which made Tuesday’s stop notable on its own. He attended a Republican National Committee fundraiser at his golf club in Rancho Palos Verdes. From there, the schedule moves to Nevada, where he’s set to address workers’ tax relief at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa on Wednesday.
Wherever Donald Trump goes these days, Natalie Harp tends to follow. Before working for him, she anchored and hosted shows for One America News. Her official title now is executive assistant, though her role has always looked broader than that on paper. During Trump’s last campaign, she was deemed the “human printer.”
The label stuck because of how far she’d reportedly go to accommodate him — running Google searches on his behalf, picking up merchandise, drafting ideas for his Truth Social account, and printing out articles so he could read them on paper.
Her devotion became a headline of its own recently, after journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan surfaced letters she’d written to the president. One line stood out: “You are all that matters to me.” Additionally, that level of attachment hasn’t gone unnoticed inside Trump’s circle.
Biographer Michael Wolff addressed it on the Inside Trump’s Head podcast: “Natalie Harp’s story is a piece of work. Everybody was in a major kerfuffle over this, including the Secret Service warning the president of the United States, or warning aides to the president whose job it was then to bring to the president whether they did or not, that they saw her as a danger to herself and to him.”
Her brother, Preston, from whom she’s estranged, offers a different lens on where the fixation comes from. He traced it back to how they were raised, aka homeschooled, and steeped in the idea of American exceptionalism (via The Daily Beast).
