Podcaster Charlotte Wilder has criticized Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers for sending mixed messages about his personal life and public attention.
The host of “Sports Gossip Podcast” alleged that Rodgers voluntarily reveals information about his life, but later complains about public scrutiny.

In the August 4 episode of the “Sports Gossip Podcast,” cohost Wilder said that Rodgers’s recent behavior is straight out of his “playbook”. She described his approach to public attention as contradictory. “How dare you care or interfere with or be curious about my personal life,’ and then telling you little breadcrumbs about his personal life and daring you to talk about it or follow up on it,” she said. The podcaster also added, “It’s so transparent. It’s so obvious that this is what he does now.”
The recent criticism stems from Rodgers’s comments on ESPN’s “The McAfee Show”. The player went on rambling about Dr. Anthony Fauci and then called out the network for focusing on his personal life. According to him, the scandal involving New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Dianna Russini should be attracting attention now.
Wilder also questioned Rodgers’s previous assertion that he would step away from the public eye once he hangs up his boots.
“I think it shows how he’s also an unreliable narrator, we can’t really believe anything he says about himself. It’s almost to the point where when he says he’s not going to start a podcast, I’m pretty sure that means he’s gonna start a podcast.” Wilder said.
Wilder also inferred that Rodgers’s technique of handling public life is part of his “desperate desire to be relevant constantly all the time”. Podcast co-host Madeline Hill also seconded Wilder’s observation, asserting that Rodgers’s queer antics just shows “how desperate he is to be seen and liked by football fans.”
Aaron Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl XLV champion who currently plays quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
