Donald Trump’s team mocks Taylor Swift after she removed her song
Donald Trump’s team slammed Taylor Swift after she removed her song from the President’s TikTok. Team Trump created a fake playlist of the singer’s 2012 album titled Red. The President’s team put his face as the main artwork, with a playlist that read: “Red (Donald Trump’s version).”
Text over the first picture of the album artwork read, “Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party?” One of the listed tracks read: “Everything has changed (At our Southern Border).” Another said: “We are never ever getting back together (The Biden-Harris administration).” The last one on the list read: “The Last Time (An Autopen runs the country).”
Team Trump shared it on their Instagram stories with the caption: “Team Trump’s version is so much better.” Swift’s fan page shared a screenshot of the fake playlist and wrote: “Donald Trump shut your mouth and don’t use Taylor to get your votes.”
For those unversed, Team Trump shared a video of the President and the First Lady standing on a balcony watching fireworks. The text on the video read: “Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.” They had used Swift’s famous song “August” as the official audio, which has now been removed.
The caption on the now song-less TikTok video reads: “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august.” The same evening, Swift’s team seemingly removed the song from TikTok (via Variety).
In the U.S. version of the TikTok app, a message on the video reads: “The copyright owner hasn’t made this sound available in your country.”
