Netflix handed its viewers an unusually big role with its newest dating series, Netflix, Will You Marry Me? The live reality show puts one man’s search for love directly in the hands of millions of Netflix members, with every major decision leading toward one televised proposal.
The 12-part series is set to unfold across four weeks, giving viewers plenty of chances to play matchmaker from home.

Netflix, Will You Marry Me? was commissioned for a global 2027 launch and is being produced by Workerbee and Initial, both part of Banijay UK. According to Banijay’s official website, filming is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the series planned around 12 live episodes.
The concept sounds simple, but viewers hold the power. One man will live in a custom-built house alongside a group of single women while the audience decides what happens next.
Every major decision will go to Netflix members for a vote. Dramatic exits will also depend on those votes, allowing viewers to shape the relationship throughout the series.
The format promises dates, drama, and romance before building toward one very public question. The man will ultimately ask viewers, “Netflix, Will You Marry Me?”
Banijay described the concept as giving one man “TOTAL control” of his love life. The company also teased the central question: “who do YOU choose?”
The dating experiment comes as Netflix continues expanding its live entertainment lineup. The streamer has already explored live programming across comedy, music, sports, and unscripted entertainment.
Previous live offerings include Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, The Roast of Tom Brady, and John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA. Netflix has also streamed major sporting events involving tennis, boxing, and the NFL.
With four weeks of live television and viewers controlling the outcome, Netflix has effectively turned dating into a group project.
