Following Brad Pitt’s revelation in a recent profile with Esquire that he has ended his complete sobriety, an insider claims his ex-wife Angelina Jolie is unfazed by the news. According to a new report, Jolie feels she previously attempted to share her concerns about the actor with the public.
Angelina Jolie reportedly says ‘I told you so’ after Brad Pitt reveals he is drinking again, claims source
In the candid Esquire profile, Pitt shared that after maintaining seven years of sobriety following his 2016 split from Jolie, he decided to reintroduce alcohol in a moderate way. The actor explained that he now allows himself occasional glasses of wine, though he noted finding moderation challenging at times. During the conversation, Pitt also discussed navigating personal mental health struggles and feelings of isolation amid ongoing family changes and distance from his children.
However, sources speaking to Rob Shuter indicate that Pitt’s update came as no surprise to Jolie. An insider claimed that the actress felt she had previously signaled what to expect. “Angelina is not surprised. She tried to warn people. She knew this was always a possibility,” the source stated.
The insider added that Jolie remains skeptical of lasting personal shifts, expressing a belief that temporary changes do not alter fundamental habits. “She doesn’t believe Brad has fundamentally changed. She believes Brad is who Brad is, and no amount of sobriety or reinvention changes that,” the source shared, describing Jolie’s stance as an “I told you so.”
Despite the public conversation surrounding Pitt’s interview, Jolie is reportedly focused on keeping her distance from her ex-husband’s personal narrative. Following years of legal proceedings regarding custody and shared business properties, Jolie views their shared history as finalized, leaving Pitt’s personal choices entirely to him.
