She uploaded the picture herself, shortly before she went on air. Sitting in the frame was a line she has used in public many times before. Critics noticed within hours, and they had plenty to say about why the reminder needed to be there at all.

“Have to write it down because it’s a lie,” one critic commented. That reply, and dozens like it, followed a photograph Karoline Leavitt put online on August 10, hours ahead of her sit-down with Sean Hannity.
The image showed her own notes. Written among them, according to critics who examined the picture, was a prompt to work the phrase “extreme liberal Democrats” into her Fox News segment. RadarOnline.com reported the mockery that followed, along with accusations that she had let a carefully assembled talking point slip into public view.
An account called Patriot Takes, which monitors right-wing extremism on X, flagged it first. “Karoline Leavitt’s note inside her Fox News media van reminds her to say ‘extreme liberal Democrats’ while on air with Sean Hannity,” the account wrote.
That phrasing turns up regularly in her attacks on Democrats and on anyone opposing the agenda of President Donald Trump, whom she serves as White House press secretary.
Monday night’s broadcast carried the same vocabulary.
“We cannot allow these radical extreme far left liberals to take power,” Leavitt said.
“We have steady progress under President Trump right now. If these radical extreme liberals are given a chance at power in Washington, D.C., they will try to obstruct this president and turn our country into a communist hellhole with every extreme liberal policy that they try to implement,” the press secretary added.
Social media users seized on the accidental look behind the curtain.
“Extreme liberalism, that supposed to scare people?” one wrote.
A longer reply questioned whether she understood her own script. “Because she says it so seldom? No, she has to write it down because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Why should she be any different from the rest of this ugly, corrupt, fiscally incompetent & non-democratic administration?” that person said.
Sarcasm arrived too, in the form of a two-word inversion of her language. “Extremely Radical Republicans,” someone wrote.
Moreover, one user tied her performance to Trump directly while calling her claims misleading. “It’s wild how passionately she peddles the same daily lies and misinformation as her Daddy, acting like the rest of us live on the moon and somehow missed what’s actually happening in this country. What a disgrace of Administration,” that user shared.
Others wondered why a familiar line required a written cue. “You’d think that she says that phrase so many times she wouldn’t need to write it down,” one critic wrote.
