Amid deteriorating health, Rod Stewart has had to cancel the remaining shows in his ongoing US tour, bringing the tour to a premature end. The veteran singer‘s team recently took to his Instagram profile to share an update on his health, the medical procedure he recently underwent, as well as the fate of his upcoming concerts.

On August 12, Rod Stewart’s team confirmed the cancellation of his ongoing US tour after announcing that the Grammy winner had “successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure.”
The Instagram update also revealed that Stewart is currently recovering well and “has returned to his normal daily activities.” Regardless, doctors have advised the 81-year-old musician to take “the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness,” resulting in the suspension of his tour.
“I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend,” Stewart noted via the social media update about his health. “I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me. I am deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”
The cancellation of Rod Stewart’s US tour means fans will unfortunately miss the remaining 11 shows in Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinois, along with a six-date residency in Las Vegas, Nevada. Outside the US, Stewart’s canceled performances included three shows in Mexico.
The concerning update comes just two days after Rod Stewart had to terminate his August 9 and 11 concerts in Cincinnati and Cleveland, respectively. As reported by Cleveland.com, the cancellation happened as Stewart had to undergo an “unforeseen but minor medical procedure.”
