King Charles ‘Underestimated’ One Thing About Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Reunion — Source

King Charles III may want to rebuild his relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. But according to a source, the pace of that reunion could be creating tension. The monarch reportedly wants to move carefully, while the Sussexes are said to be eager to make up for lost time. Now, an insider claims Charles may have “underestimated” just how difficult balancing the reconciliation with the rest of the Royal Family could be.

King Charles, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle are said to be approaching their reconciliation at different speeds. A source claimed the monarch is happy to rebuild his relationship with his younger son. However, he reportedly wants to take his time and avoid rushing the process. “[Charles] wants this relationship, but he wants to rebuild it at a pace that’s comfortable for him,” the insider told National Examiner.

Harry and Markle are allegedly much more eager to strengthen those family ties. According to the source, they want to “make up for lost time” after years of separation. In fact, the Duke of Sussex is apparently already looking ahead to more opportunities to spend time with his father.

That could include future holidays. The source claimed Harry has already been talking about Christmas. There has also reportedly been discussion about Charles potentially joining him at the 2027 Invictus Games. Still, the 77-year-old monarch seems to be urging caution. “As far as he’s concerned, it needs to be baby steps,” the insider explained. While Charles appreciates Harry’s enthusiasm, he is said to believe that rebuilding their relationship will take time.

Then there is the issue of his oldest son, Prince William. The source alleged Charles “underestimated” just how upset William would become over his decision to reconcile with Harry. That adds another layer of difficulty for the monarch, who is already navigating tensions within the family.

Further, the insider described the reconciliation as “an enormous undertaking.” Charles is allegedly facing backlash over his efforts to reconnect with Harry. At the same time, the source claimed Harry’s eagerness to move ahead may be making the situation harder. “Harry isn’t necessarily helping matters by being really quite overzealous at times,” the insider said.

That does not necessarily mean Charles wants to step away from the relationship. In fact, the source suggested the King is glad that he and Harry are rebuilding their bond. The challenge, however, appears to be finding a pace that feels comfortable for everyone involved.
