Nikki Glaser abruptly cut ties with her UTA agents and signed with WME, with sources claiming Kim Kardashian played a role in the decision.
The call came without warning from a venue in Canada, roughly 60 minutes before showtime. Her own team was reportedly blindsided, as was the agency she left behind. Sources claim a friendship formed on a film set ultimately influenced the move.
Nikki Glaser’s close bond with Kim Kardashian adds intrigue to her sudden UTA firing
Nikki Glaser abruptly cut ties with her UTA agents and signed with WME because Kim Kardashian inspired her, sources told Page Six Hollywood.
Netflix’s “The Fifth Wheel” brought them together on screen. Eva Longoria directed the film, while Kardashian produced it. The logline follows a group of high school best friends who “attempt to reconnect during a weekend haunt to Vegas.” Off camera, sources claim that friendship also influenced Glaser’s decision.
Kardashian’s own representation is with WME. “Nikki was enamoured with Kim,” a source familiar with the comedian said.
Glaser has previously spoken about being a longtime fan and about how the two became close while filming. She also shared that Kardashian offered her advice on major life decisions. “It was so much fun… she is incredible,” the 42-year-old comedian told Us Weekly earlier this year at the 2026 Time100 Gala, while discussing her experience working with the reality star and SKIMS mogul. “I have been a fan of [her] show for a while, so I felt like I knew her.”
She added of Kardashian: “She was always someone I was like, ‘I think I would like to get to know her.’ She just gives great advice.” She continued, “She gave me some, like, insane life advice that literally changed my life. It was just a really hard life decision I was making, and she just had a perspective on it that really no one else could have offered me besides her. It helped me have the strength to do something that I was scared to do.”
Page Six Hollywood also said she fired UTA “without warning,” a move that allegedly caught both the agency and members of her own team off guard, according to multiple sources. “Nobody can figure it out,” one source said. Another added, “Crazy considering what UTA built for her the last five years.”
The phone call allegedly came last week, “with no heads up,” about an hour before Glaser was due on stage at Winnipeg’s Centennial Concert Hall during “The Stunning Tour,” a source said. Her PR representative declined to comment.
Glaser signed with UTA in 2018. Those Nikki Glaser agents “turned her from a respected comedian into a mainstream cultural force,” a source previously told P6H.
Glaser has hosted the Golden Globes twice. She is the only woman to host the ceremony solo. Moreover, she will return in 2027. The Golden Globes host has also earned an Emmy nomination for her work.
