Taylor Swift reportedly made a motherhood pact with Selena Gomez, leaving Blake Lively outside her inner circle. The longtime friends reportedly hope to welcome their first children around the same time, according to insiders. The agreement reportedly comes amid Swift’s alleged fallout with Lively following the Justin Baldoni legal battle.
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez reportedly planned motherhood together
According to the Daily Mail, Swift and Gomez discussed becoming godmothers to each other’s children. An insider said, “Taylor and Selena are very close. They’re like sisters.” The source added, “For almost 20 years they’ve been there for each other on a personal and professional level.”
The pair first bonded around 2008 while dating Joe and Nick Jonas. Their friendship continued to grow over the years.
Another insider claimed, “Taylor and Selena have agreed they want to have their babies as close time wise to each other as possible.” The source added that they had “essentially made a pact” about godparent duties.
The arrangement reportedly marks a shift from Swift’s relationship with Lively. Lively’s children previously held a special place in Swift’s life.
Swift confirmed her godparent role publicly in 2024. She also hosted Lively’s children at her Rhode Island home.
The report claimed Swift later removed herself from the role after their friendship reportedly deteriorated. Insiders linked the alleged fallout to Lively’s legal dispute involving Justin Baldoni.
Still, another source insisted the reported pact with Gomez was about loyalty rather than revenge. “Taylor is very confident in her friendship with Selena and doesn’t worry about having any falling out,” the insider said.
Gomez praised Swift’s loyalty during an Eras Tour appearance. She said Swift “has never ever judged a single decision I’ve made.”
Meanwhile, Gomez and husband Benny Blanco have reportedly explored surrogacy or adoption. Gomez discussed grieving her inability to carry a child during a 2024 Vanity Fair interview.
Swift and Travis Kelce have also faced speculation about starting a family. With no tour planned and Kelce considering retirement, insiders claimed the timing could work.
“Taylor and Selena are looking forward to sharing the experience of having their first child around the same time,” the source said.
