Jessie J revealed why she briefly returned to the Raya dating app after her breakup with Chanan Colman. The singer, 38, reactivated her profile for two days and updated her pictures before deactivating it again.
Jessie addressed the Jessie J dating profile reports in an Instagram video, turning the situation into a joke after fans learned about her return to the celebrity dating app. She had originally joined Raya before meeting Chanan in 2021.
Jessie J reactivated her Raya profile for two days following her split from Chanan Colman
Jessie began the video by suggesting that her management had given her some serious news before revealing what had happened.
“My management have just told me something and I want to tell you guys the truth.”
She then explained that she had updated her profile on Raya following her Jessie J breakup.
“I updated and reactivated my Raya account on a dating app. I did. For two days, I surrendered. I just got excited and I updated my pictures.”
One of the images reportedly added to her Jessie J dating profile showed her attending the O2 Silver Clef Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in July. Jessie said she deliberately left her bio unchanged.
“But I didn’t update my bio because I wanted to be mysterious. But I’ve deactivated it now and I’m really sorry and I won’t do it again,” she said.
Jessie also addressed the situation in the caption accompanying her Jessie J Instagram post. She tagged The Sun and wrote, “We could have gone on a date. Think of the stories you have got then.”
She also tagged Raya’s official account and added, “I don’t think the privacy part of the app works.”
Jessie’s brief return to Raya came weeks after she confirmed the end of her relationship with Chanan Colman. The pair share a three-year-old son and had met through Raya in 2021.
Jessie previously explained that the Jessie J love life update had been difficult for both of them. She said they had ended their romantic relationship “some time ago” and had been concentrating on co-parenting their son.
“Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago, it has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co-parenting environment for our son, and ourselves.”
She added that they would continue supporting each other as friends and as parents.
“We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky’s Mum and Dad, so if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again.”
