Princess Charlotte is following her mother’s lead, this time on the sports court with netball. The young royal has found a passion for netball, mirroring a sport Kate Middleton has long championed. The Princess of Wales has often showcased her athleticism, joining netball games and sports drills during royal visits and engagements.

Princess Catherine appears to excel at just about every sport she tries, and it looks like her only daughter is following in her athletic footsteps. While dance remains a passion she shares with the late Princess Diana, Charlotte is also pursuing netball competitively.
The Princess of Wales has a background in netball from her school days. She noted Charlotte’s interest in the sport three years ago following a meeting with England’s Ama Agbeze at a SportsAid engagement.
“Kate has played netball before, she knows the sport,” Agbez revealed to PEOPLE back then. “She said she had been teaching her daughter how to shoot in netball, but younger people have the net lower, so it’s actually very different—she’s still got it.”
As reported by the Daily Mail, the next-gen royal is a member of a netball team outside Lambrook School and “competes at a high level all over the country.”
“All of the parents of the girls on the opposing teams are wondering whether or not they’re going to run into William and Kate,” a source revealed to the outlet. “It’s all very hands on and it would be funny to see them in such a down-to-earth environment, doing the early starts and long drives that everyone else has to do.”
Princess Charlotte also represents Lambrook in netball, something a competing prep school highlighted on Instagram earlier this year. Back in April, Notting Hill & Ealing High’s junior squad shared that they had “a memorable quarter-final win (10–5) against Lambrook, where the girls enjoyed playing against Princess Charlotte!”
