On the red carpet, she told Entertainment Tonight that she “resonated” with the movie even more after becoming a mother herself.
Promotion of “Hexed” also marks her very first red carpet appearance after giving birth, with Steinfeld claiming that she now understood her role and the overall plot better. For those unversed, the movie follows the story of a teen and her cautious mother navigating the kid’s magical powers while discovering a vast witch realm called Hexe.
Speaking about the film, Steinfeld said, “It’s been resonating with me in a way that I could have never ever imagined.” She continues, “I am incredibly close with my mom, and there is that side of it. But as a mother now, it’s something that, you know, an overprotective mother makes a hell of a lot more sense to me than ever before!”
Moreover, she explained that the movie also shows a parent allowing their kid to “discover their magic from within.” It portrays how they let their children “be free,” but also “protect them” and “support them.”
According to Steinfeld, “Hexed” has various themes that seemed to be “resonating” with her “for the first time.” “It’s been an amazing journey for me just coming into motherhood, and that I’m a part of [this movie].”
