Zara Larsson’s fans were upset and called out the expensive concert tickets. Addressing the complaints herself in a TikTok video, the Grammy-nominated artist admitted that the ticket prices are high for her upcoming Bangkok concert.
According to her, this is currently the only stop on her Midnight Sun Tour that has not sold out. And she wishes more fans could afford to see her perform live.
Zara Larsson responds to fan criticism over expensive Bangkok tickets for her Midnight Sun Tour
In the TikTok video shared earlier this week, Larsson explained, “I’ve obviously seen a lot of the comments.” She continued, “There are so many saying the tickets for Bangkok, which is my only show that’s not sold out for Midnight Sun, are really expensive.”
“And I agree. I think the tickets are very expensive.” She said, “Even though they’re in line with the market for international shows in Bangkok, it doesn’t make them less expensive.”
Zara Larsson will perform at UOB Live in Bangkok on Nov. 1. General tickets cost around $85 to $118, while a VIP package costs about $274.
The Lush Life singer said, “I really wish we had a cheaper entry tier so that more people could come because I hate the fact that people genuinely want to come, but they can’t because of the prices.” She added, “I don’t personally think a concert should be this super, super exclusive thing.”
She also said it should not be “something that you need to save for months for.” I just don’t think it should be that inaccessible in general.”
The 28-year-old singer also said that the criticism has made her think differently about her role in the ticketing process. Although she does not control the prices, but says her year of touring has taught her more about ticket pricing.
“I do appreciate you guys bringing that to my attention because it is something that I truly care about,” added Larsson. “And even though I don’t set my prices, I feel like as I’ve been touring for the past year I’ve learned so much, and I feel like I’ve bossed up.”
She now wants to have more involvement in deciding ticket prices the next time she plans a tour.
