Will Smith’s Former Friend Takes Aim at Him in Jada Pinkett Lawsuit

Will Smith could soon be pulled into his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s legal battle. Her former friend, Bilaal Salaam, wants to add Will to the lawsuit. He has asked the court to make Will a co-defendant.

Bilaal Salaam plans to add Will Smith as a co-defendant in his ongoing lawsuit against Jada

As reported by TMZ, Salaam has filed new court documents. He is asking for permission to add Will as a co-defendant in the case. His lawsuit currently targets Jada. He claims that she and people close to her harassed him after he refused to help Will deal with the fallout from the 2022 Oscars slap. During the incident, Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage.

According to Salaam’s claims, his relationship with the couple also became strained after Jada learned about his plans to write a memoir. He said the book would include details about Will, Jada, and their family.

Jada has denied the accusations against her. The judge previously dismissed several of Salaam’s claims, but he is now attempting to change his complaint and continue with the case. Adding Will would bring another major name into the legal battle, which started with Salaam’s allegations against Jada.

The former friend is also facing a separate financial issue connected to the case. Jada was awarded $32,000 in legal fees and is now seeking payment from Salaam.

Salaam says he cannot afford to pay the full amount. He has asked the court to either lower the fee or allow him to pay the money through a payment plan.

For now, it remains to be seen whether the court will allow Salaam to add Will to the lawsuit. If approved, the legal dispute could expand from a case involving Jada to one involving both members of the famous couple.
