Brad Pitt has taken another step in his long-running legal battle with Angelina Jolie. His lawyers reportedly want access to contracts and payment records tied to several of her movie projects. Jolie disputes that Pitt has a right to the material. The disagreement adds a new financial layer to their continuing fight over Château Miraval.
Brad Pitt alleges Angelina Jolie has not turned over movie contracts he requested
Pitt asked a judge to order Jolie to produce movie contracts and other income records covering 2017 through 2021, TMZ reported. His filing reportedly challenges her position that she scaled back her career after their 2016 separation.
His legal team wants records showing upfront acting fees, brand sponsorship payments and profit participation from her projects. The requested period included Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Those Who Wish Me Dead and Marvel’s Eternals.
According to the filing, Jolie initially agreed to provide the information before later refusing. Pitt’s attorneys argue that her earnings matter because she previously said she needed to sell her Château Miraval interest to gain financial independence.
Jolie rejects that interpretation. Her lawyers maintain that financial independence meant separating her finances from Pitt, not that she lacked money. She also argues that Pitt received extensive financial information during their divorce and is requesting more than the current case allows.
The latest filing builds on a dispute Jolie previously raised when she challenged Pitt’s request for financial records dating to 2017. Her side said she had already provided tax returns and profit participation statements for 2020 and 2021 while objecting to older records on privacy grounds.
The former couple finalized their divorce in December 2024, but the winery case remains unresolved. Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 after she sold her interest in Nouvel, the company connected to the French estate, to a Stoli Group subsidiary. He alleges the sale violated an agreement requiring mutual approval, while Jolie disputes that such an agreement existed.
Both sides have secured favorable rulings during the case. Pitt recently won permission to question key Stoli representatives. Jolie previously blocked his effort to obtain certain private attorney communications.
The court has yet to rule on Pitt’s request, leaving the disputed financial records at the center of the former couple’s ongoing Château Miraval battle years after their divorce was finalized.
