Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s major U.K. move has sparked major speculation about their return to their royal duties. Earlier, it was reported that the couple will move back to Britain with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to PEOPLE, King Charles is said to have been clear that there will not be any change in their role in the Royal British family. The couple stepped back from their royal duties six years ago before moving to California.
Their title as Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex will remain, while they continue as private individuals and non-working members of the royal family.
The insiders say that any future royal role will have to be worked out with King Charles.
The news of their move back to the U.K. came just weeks after the couple reportedly reunited with the King and Queen at Highgrove House with their children. “It is better that people don’t know anything about these meetings. They should be allowed to rekindle those family ties,” a source close to the family said about the meeting.
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle built a life in California, Harry continued to return to the U.K for charity events and legal matters. An insider said he “always had one foot” in Britain.
