Justin Hartley shared his support for his former This Is Us co-star, Chrissy Metz. Metz recently revealed that she started using GLP-1 medication for her health. Hartley responded warmly when asked about her journey.

Hartley was asked about Metz during the Television Academy’s Televerse Festival. After hearing about her recent weight-loss journey, he expressed happiness about how well she was doing during an interview with Extra TV.
“Oh great,” Hartley said when discussing Metz’s progress. He then praised his former television sister and their lasting friendship. “She’s wonderful. She knows what I think of her. She’s terrific,” Hartley added. He also said he loved Metz dearly and wanted her to succeed.
Hartley and Metz played twins Kevin and Kate Pearson on This Is Us. Their characters remained central to the NBC family drama throughout its run. Their close onscreen relationship also reflected their friendship away from the series.
Meanwhile, Metz recently opened up about her decision to use a GLP-1 medication. She said she had initially been skeptical about the treatment. Her father’s health complications eventually encouraged her to reconsider.
“I was like, ‘Maybe I should try to get ahead of it,’” Metz explained. She said the medication had been a positive experience for her. Metz also emphasized that the treatment was not suitable for everyone.
The actress reportedly lost 63 pounds after becoming a brand ambassador for Ro. She said the medication also helped with inflammation and energy. Metz described her focus as prioritizing health and longevity.
She also discussed experiencing less “food noise” since starting the medication. Metz said thoughts about food had previously occupied significant mental space. She believed having that space back helped her become more present and creative.
However, Metz stressed that her journey involved more than medication. She also incorporated exercise and weight training into her lifestyle changes. “It’s not just, ‘Oh, I’m going to take a medication,’” she said.
Hartley’s comments came as Metz continued sharing her experience publicly. His supportive response highlighted their enduring bond since This Is Us ended.
