Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, are facing new criticism as investors pursue claims involving their mental health company, Wondermind.
Attorney Jeffrey Neiman, who represents the investors, accused Gomez and Teefey of using Gomez’s public profile and connection to mental health advocacy to help attract funding. Gomez has denied the allegations.

Neiman criticized the way Wondermind allegedly presented Gomez to potential investors.
“Mental health is not a marketing strategy, and should never be used as a vehicle for personal financial gain,” he told TMZ.
According to the Wondermind lawsuit, company representatives described Gomez as the “head of marketing.” The investors claim they expected her to promote the business through her large social media following and public influence.
Neiman argued that Gomez played a central role in convincing people to invest.
“Selena wasn’t simply associated with the pitch. She was the pitch,” he said.
The investors claim Gomez initially helped draw people to Wondermind but later reduced her involvement after the company secured funding.
Their lawsuit names Gomez, Teefey and former business partner Daniella Pierson. The plaintiffs accuse them of providing misleading information about Wondermind and Gomez’s expected participation in the company.
Neiman also claimed the situation went beyond a typical business dispute because Wondermind centered its brand on mental health.
He argued that the company relied on public trust surrounding Gomez and her connection to the subject when seeking investments.
Gomez has rejected those allegations through her attorney. Her attorney previously called the claims “completely meritless, both factually and legally.”
The Selena Gomez legal trouble therefore remains a dispute between the investors and Gomez’s side. The investors continue to allege that her promised involvement influenced their decisions, while Gomez maintains through her attorney that their claims have no factual or legal basis.
