Danielle Olivera has something special to celebrate after a difficult start to motherhood. The Summer House alum and In The City star has finally brought her son, Aidan, home after more than two months in the hospital. Olivera shared the milestone with boyfriend Eoin Heavey and thanked the team that cared for their baby. The update closes a long NICU chapter that began when Aidan arrived early in June.
Danielle Olivera celebrated baby Aidan coming home after 63 days in the NICU
Olivera announced Aidan’s homecoming in an Instagram post on Monday, Aug. 24. She revealed that he had “graduated from the NICU after 63 days”. “He’s finally home,” Olivera wrote, before thanking Stony Brook Hospital for its care.
The post included photos of Olivera, Heavey and Aidan marking the milestone together. Aidan also wore a tiny graduation cap for the occasion. Meanwhile, a sign announced that it was finally time for him to “move in” with his family.
The happy update comes two months after Olivera and Eoin Heavey welcomed their first child. Aidan arrived on June 21, about 10 weeks before his due date.
At the time, Heavey joked that their son was heading to “summer camp at NICU” while he grew stronger. The couple also said they could not wait to bring him home.
Olivera continued sharing Aidan’s progress throughout his hospital stay. Earlier this month, she said he was breathing room air and enjoying more cuddles. He also celebrated milestones such as his first bath.
Meanwhile, viewers were getting to know Olivera and Heavey as a couple on In The City. Their relationship and pregnancy became part of the Summer House spinoff’s first season.
Olivera first announced her pregnancy in May, shortly before In The City premiered. She and Heavey had known each other for years before reconnecting and starting a relationship.
Now, the family of three can begin a new chapter at home. After 63 days in the NICU, Aidan’s long-awaited homecoming gave Olivera the update she had been hoping to share.
