Prince Harry’s UK Return Has Put Prince William in an ‘Unenviable Position’ — Source

A royal biographer suggests Prince Harry’s return to the UK could create fresh tensions with Prince William, claiming the future king may have little interest in reconciliation. They added that William remains deeply committed to the monarchy but finds himself in a difficult position, feeling increasingly compelled by circumstances to take action.

Royal biographer Katie Nicholl said to Hello! that Prince William feels “pressured” by the arrival of Prince Harry, along with Meghan Markle and their kids. She reflected on how their proximity might create difficult situations between the brothers.

She explained, “In many ways, Harry’s really got William over a barrel, because it will be very difficult with them being geographically so much closer and Harry being welcomed back into the royal fold by his father [King Charles], at least, for William to be adamant that there will be no reconciliation.”

It’s been learned that the Waleses felt “blindsided” by the Sussexes’ UK move. She also disclosed the possibility that Harry’s move to the UK could speed up his reconciliation talks with Prince William. However, at present, their bond remains damaged, and there remains a lack of trust. Nicholl is aware of Prince William’s commitment to the future of the monarchy. However, she added that he is in an “unenviable position,” where he has little choice but to act.

In another Vanity Fair report, the same royal biographer claimed that the Waleses are “derailed” by the Sussexes’ return to the UK. She elaborated, “There’s a sense that William is going to have to be watching over his shoulder the whole time. He doesn’t know what his brother is going to spring on them all next.”

She mentioned that this was supposed to be a good time for Prince William, given that everything was falling into place. She gave the example of Catherine doing well after her cancer diagnosis and one of their children, Prince George, starting anew at Eton College.

Despite this, it is learned that Prince William and King Charles had a one-on-one conversation about the Sussexes’ return. They reportedly remain on the same page and well-aligned for now.
