Meghan Markle‘s lifestyle brand As Ever recorded a yearly low in traffic amid her and Prince Harry‘s UK return. Her lifestyle venture curates a collection of homewares, artisanal food items, and drink selections. The Duchess of Sussex launched the brand last April alongside the debut season of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
Royal expert suggests Meghan Markle’s brand lacks a ‘dedicated’ fanbase
Meghan Markle has faced ridicule from a royal expert due to the ongoing lack of organic traffic to her As Ever website.
After a strong debut that sold out in minutes, the brand has since declined, with traffic falling to its lowest point in the past five months. As Ever had seen 36% growth since last October. However, analysts noted that interest has waned in the first half of this year.
Weighing in on the drop, royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Sky News Australia, “Well, [the website had] less than 8,000 organic visitors in the month of August for the website. Um, you know, it’s not just like a bad month. It’s the trajectory. Estimated organic search traffic has fallen for five consecutive months and reached a 12-month low in August.”
She further explained, “That suggests the enormous curiosity that is necessary to generate the kind of revenue they would need to maintain this lifestyle is not necessarily translating into sales. So or is not necessarily translating into something tangible for her or a sustainable customer interest.”
Schofield also noted that while Meghan Markle dominates headlines, infamy is very different from fame. She suggested that the Duchess seems to lack a “dedicated” engaged fan base willing to support her.
Amid reports of declining traffic, As Ever’s Instagram teased that a “new chapter to celebrate” is coming, with a new launch scheduled for Thursday.
Unveiling the new product, a sparkling wine, in a photo, the caption read, “A new chapter to celebrate. Introducing our Reserve Brut. Crafted in the traditional Méthode Champenoise and sourced from Napa Valley, this elegant sparkling wine was made for gathering, toasting, and savoring life’s beautiful moments. Available 9/3 at Wine.AsEver.com.”
