BravoCon 2023: Andy Cohen Responds to Bethenny Frankel’s ‘Reality Reckoning’

Many have pointed out the flaws of reality TV in the past, but the cries have never been louder than they are now. The writers’ and actors’ strikes helped move things along. But even with those strikes coming to an end, Bethenny Frankel is still pushing for reform. And she has made it clear that no one will stand in her way, least of all Andy Cohen.

Bethenny’s taken multiple direct shots at the Watch What Happens Live host, accusing him of fostering the toxic work environment that leads reality stars to tear each other down.

As one might expect, Andy has been mostly silent in response to Bethenny’s attacks. However, at BravoCon 2023, Andy could no longer face the issue indirectly, as it seemed he was asked for his thoughts on the reality reckoning.

Andy Cohen defends Bravo against Bethenny Frankel for bringing “joy”

Twitter user @queensofbravo posted a video from BravoCon showing Andy seated beside Jeff Lewis. The tweet was captioned with “Andy shares his thoughts on Bethenny’s Reality Reckoning [side-eye emoji].” The video began with Andy saying, “Bravo, as we all can see — Bravo and the shows that are on Bravo — bring millions of people so much joy and so much happiness.”

He went on, “Which is why you’re all here — to have fun … I live in the joy that these shows bring people, and I think we all do. That’s the place that I’m at.” Many on Twitter pointed out Jeff’s body language, noting that he looked uncomfortable. One Twitter user accused Andy of “always deflecting.”

While plenty of Twitter users acknowledged how much they loved Bravo, they were also willing to see the other side. As one reply wrote, “Yes we know the shows bring joy to other people, the reality reckoning is about the fair treatment of the talent on those shows. Andy should be a politician the way he danced [around] answering anything directly!”

BravoCon continues this weekend from Nov. 3 to Nov. 5 at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas.
