Why Jesse Solomon Needs a Summer House Reset

Jesse Solomon has not had the best of seasons. The Summer House star has turned a few heads and not in the best of ways. His quickly-formed relationship with Lexi Wood left fans questioning whether he could be a good boyfriend. And his odd way of changing the narrative isn’t sitting well with many viewers. I fear that if Jesse doesn’t start shaping up, he might need to ship out.

Jesse Solomon takes no accountability on Summer House

Personally, I hate when a Bravoleb fails to take accountability for their actions. The latest episode showed Jesse apologizing to Ciara Miller for his lame jokes about her being too touchy. The aspiring singer has put Ciara in the middle of his relationship troubles, and it isn’t fair to the model. Ciara was left feeling uncomfortable after Jesse mangled his words. In previous episodes, he told her things might have been different if he had arrived before West Wilson. And he also said he flirted with her during a party to make her feel better. As he tried to apologize on the beach, Ciara made sure to let him know he had tainted their friendship. His apology didn’t feel genuine because fans and Ciara didn’t think he understood how upsetting his actions were.

Jesse has a history of trying to sweep his issues under the rug. He has been caught talking negatively about his relationship with Lexi. But he never brings the issues up to her. Instead, he jumps from friend to friend, explaining what has bothered him. For example, this week’s episode showed Jesse mocking the fact that Lexi’s mother and sister went out clubbing with them. And that they had to rehash their long discussions with her family. While I also agree that having her mom as a therapist is odd, he really should be talking to her. Then, when the news gets back to Lexi, he gets annoyed that his friends didn’t keep their lips sealed.

Jesse Solomon admits to a cheating scandal

Jesse has allowed himself to take part in some questionable behavior on Summer House. Especially when Lexi is away, fans have seen that Jesse will play. He hid his mini foursome from her. And only told her about getting his toe sucked when his hand was forced. To any outsider viewers, it doesn’t actually feel like Jesse wants to have a girlfriend. The Summer House star has commented more than once about all the hot women. He even asked Craig Conover how he chose to be in a long-term relationship.

Now, fans learned that he might be failing to commit due to a cheating issue from high school. Personally, I’m not buying it. But he tried to sell a sob story, sharing, “It’s very hard for me to find somebody I really like, and when I find that, it happens quickly and I’m all in. I immediately was head over heels for Lexi.” In his confessional, Jesse explained, “The only other girl I’ve ever, like, been in love with was when I was 18, 19. And then my best friend slept with her, and then that’s why I have trust issues.” For Jesse, having a good working theory might be helping him make excuses when it comes to Lexi.

Did Jesse Solomon play the game for more Summer House airtime?

It very much feels like Jesse wanted Season 9 to be all about him. It could easily be that Jesse clocked the camera time West received when he was entangled with Ciara during Season 8, and he may want it for himself. During their arguments, Lexi has made sure to insinuate more than once that she was love-bombed by the Bravoleb. If Jesse aimed to get more airtime, he definitely succeeded since all the house can talk about is how weird his relationship is.

However, Jesse needs a hard reset if he ever wants to fall back into the good graces of Summer House fans. His f*ck boy ways are not a good look and giving most of his roommates the ick. During Season 8, he was more jovial and, dare I say, genuine. Season 9 has shown a different version of Jesse that just isn’t hitting.

Summer House is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
