It has not been the best of times when it comes to the Chrisley family. In 2023, both Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley reported to federal prison for fraud charges. Both decided to appeal their sentences, which combined, equals to 19 years behind bars. Todd’s appeal was denied, and even though Julie was given a resentencing, a judge gave her the same amount of time as she initially received.
It’s only been a little over two years since the Chrisley Knows Best couple have been incarcerated. But, their daughter and fellow series alum Savannah Chrisley has come forward with some demands for when they both return.
Savannah Chrisley thinks her family will need “intensive” therapy upon Julie and Todd Chrisley’s prison release
Savannah recently became vulnerable about her relationship with her parents on her Unlocked podcast. During her latest segment, she discussed the emotional toll her parents’ absence has taken on the family.
Because of this, she has a request for when they come home from prison, based on a conversation she had with Julie.
“I said, ‘If we’re going to actually all come back together, there needs to be an intensive, week-long therapy that we all go to and hash everything out,’” she explained in the May 13 episode.
She also shared that because she has stepped up as a parental figure for her younger siblings, she’s not going to let things slide.
“There’s going to be a lot of stuff that happens because when they come home, I have already told them that over the past two and a half years, I’ve figured it out. So if they come home thinking they’re gonna rescue individuals and act like nothing’s happened, then I’m out. I told them that and mama has said, ‘Well, that’s not happening.’”
There’s no telling what the future holds in regards to potential appeals and pleas from legal teams. Nevertheless, as it stands, Julie will be released in 2028, with Todd’s prison departure slated for 2033.
