The insider further shared that the duo is working towards having a better relationship, with Swift trying to place her trust in the actor again. Rumors of a strain in their friendship arose when Baldoni’s countersuit alleged Lively used the singer’s influence to make revisions in the “It Ends With Us” script.
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively aren’t as close as before, says ‘source’
Since Taylor Swift unwillingly became part of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit drama, her friendship with Lively took a hit. According to PEOPLE‘s exclusive report from a source, although the two are working towards getting on better terms, “their friendship isn’t the same as it was before.”
The insider also revealed that the two stars, who shared a strong friendship in the past, aren’t that close anymore. They are not “spending as much time together” as they did before. The source hinted that there has been some improvement recently. They claimed, “Taylor is working to trust Blake again but it’s going to take some time.”
The two friends have reportedly been at odds with each other in regard to Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Lively. He claimed that his co-star called her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Swift her “dragons,” who protect her. Eventually, it led the “Cruel Summer” singer to be subpoenaed by Baldoni’s attorneys to testify in the upcoming trial. A few weeks later, the team dropped the subpoena.
Meanwhile, another source exclusively told Page Six that Lively is going above and beyond to mend her friendship with Swift. According to the insider, the actor is reaching out to the musician via text messages, voicemails, and more. However, Swift isn’t reportedly responding to Lively’s messages and “ignored all her groveling excuses.”
As of now, neither Swift nor Lively has addressed their rumored issues. The trial, which will cover both Lively and Baldoni’s lawsuits, will take place in March 2026.
