Time and again, Travis Kelce has proved he is Taylor Swift‘s ultimate “hype man” and recently admitted to being one. The brothers welcomed NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal as a guest in the latest episode of their “New Heights” podcast. As the Kelces praised O’Neal’s achievements and DJ skills, their conversation took a detour when the latter suggested Travis “opening up with” Swift’s music would be a game changer. The Kansas City Chiefs star seemed too thrilled with the idea and excitedly acknowledged being the biggest “hype man.”
Travis Kelce on DJing Taylor Swift’s music: ‘Have the Swifties bouncing off the walls’
With his ability to pander to the audience, Travis Kelce played with the idea of DJing Taylor Swift’s music during a conversation with Shaquille O’Neal. The Kelce brothers and the former basketball player talked about how brilliant it would be if the NFL star opened up to his girlfriend’s song during the latest “New Heights” podcast episode. Travis introduced the topic after asking the guest to show him the ropes and his “ways” around the DJ booth, especially as an experienced disc jockey.
The sports analyst assured Travis that he’s got his back. “Brother, I got you, I got you,” O’Neal told him before suggesting the “crazy” idea about him “opening up” with his girlfriend. “Bro, you’d be a f—ing star,” the retired athlete stated while the two brothers burst out laughing at the thought. He continued telling the Chiefs’ tight end his “10 minutes hyping up the crowd” could be the moment. The athlete approved of O’Neal’s perspective, admitting he is “a hype man” and how it could even “have the Swifties bouncing off the walls.”
Later in the episode, Travis Kelce substantiated his claims about being Taylor Swift’s biggest cheerleader and celebrated her recent victory — her buy back of the master recordings of her first six studio albums. He began dancing and jamming to the singer’s all-time hit “I Knew You Were Trouble” after O’Neal played the track. “Shout out to Tay Tay,” Travis gushed over her massive win, announcing she “just got that song back, too.” He noted that his girlfriend “just bought all her music back, so it’s finally hers too.”
