I always hate it when the Summer House season comes to an end. It’s hard to know that those winter months are right around the corner. The cast is always ready to deliver some amazing scenes – but some get left on the cutting room floor. Thankfully, Bravo always knows how to treat its viewers to pick me up. So let’s take a look at the best tea from Summer House’s Under the Covers.
Lindsay Hubbard opens up more about break up
In the unseen Summer House footage, fans were able to peer behind the curtain when it came to Lindsay Hubbard’s breakup. She and Turner Kufe are currently trying to co-parent their daughter Gemma. During the reunion, Linds revealed that the two were not working out romantically. And instead, decided to just be the best of friends. In one deleted scene, Lindsay got together with her longtime friend Kyle Cooke. The new mother wanted an honest shoulder to throw ideas off of.
Both started talking about what they expected from the future, and the topic of children came up. It was then that Lindsay revealed to the DJ that she and Turner had discussed the idea of getting pregnant way before she conceived. Kyle questioned if Lindsay had been taking birth control or “just rolling the dice.” Lindsay answered that they were “being as safe as you can be without a condom.” The blonde added that she and Turner were fully aware of what could and did eventually happen. Kyle asked, “Before getting pregnant, you had the chat?” Lindsay answered, “We did!” Fans could see that Kyle was relieved. “I’m happy that you guys had that talk before. Instead of having that talk for the first time after getting pregnant,” he exclaimed.
Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke clashed more than once
As Summer House fans saw, Kyle and Amanda Batula were able to have one of their best summers ever! It’s been a long time coming, but the couple seemed to be on the same page, finally. But in an unaired scene fans watched as the duo really butted heads. The conversation took place before the roomies headed out to Montauk for the summer, and it was anything but pleasant.
Amanda has been a saint as Kyle has been trying to live his life like the modern-day Peter Pan. But everyone, including Amanda, has their breaking point. The bathing suit designer brought up how Kyle sometimes stays out “till 4:00 in the morning.” The constant partying would lead to arguments because she was often “triggered.” Amanda asked her husband why he thinks she has a hard time trusting him. And Kyle was pretty insightful with his answer. The Loverboy founder noted, “Because you associate me going out, drinking, and socializing with me cheating.” Amanda shared that the last five years have been hard when it comes to the constant rumors. She added, “Reading it, that initial hurt is just as bad as whether or not it’s true. There’s not rumors about every other couple out there. It’s only you because you put yourself in compromising situations.”
There will always be Jesse Solomon and Lexi Wood
No matter how hard you might want to run away from the storyline that was Lexi Wood and Jesse Solomon, you can’t. Their love story will forever be etched in Season 9. And even the Summer House Under the Covers special showed unaired scenes between them. Producers didn’t want to leave the former couple out, so they shared a few funny interactions. As fans know, Lexi was all about Jesse meeting her family. But the crooner didn’t exactly feel the same way. In the unaired clip, production artfully cut between the two meetings and interjected some humor into the meet-and-greet.
But perhaps an even funnier scene had to do with the entire cast. The Boys vs. Girls party, where West Wilson ate a dirty water dunk tank hot dog, was one for the record books. It turns out the girls hatched a diabolical plan to steal the guys’ condiment costumes. Paige DeSorbo was shown lying right to Jesse about the whereabouts. The girls kept gaslighting to guys. At one point, West demands the return of his mustard costume. But Amanda looks right at him while wearing the actual costume and says, “What mustard costume?” This is what summer is all about. The fun antics between a group of actual friends. To be honest, this might have been the funniest episode out of the enitre season.
