Jeff Bezos Negotiated With Elton John Over His Wedding Performance Fee, Claims ‘Source’

Speculations continue to swirl around why Sir Elton John did not take the stage at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s grand wedding. Ahead of the festivities, it was heavily rumored that the lavish Italian ceremony would include performances by the British singer-songwriter as well as Lady Gaga.

However, the speculations turned out to be untrue. The couple’s nuptials did not feature a live performance from either. According to new claims, the deal with John may not have happened because of the fee that he was asking for performing at the pair’s ceremony.

Elton John didn’t perform at Jeff Bezos’ wedding because he didn’t want to pay $6 million, says ‘source’

A new report has claimed that Elton John did not perform at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in Venice due to the hefty fee. Rob Shuter exclusively learned from sources that the 78-year-old’s $6 million price tag was the reason the deal didn’t materialize. The Amazon founder reportedly even “tried to negotiate.”

However, the source said, “Elton doesn’t do budget bookings.” As the Italian wedding deal didn’t happen, the British musician ended up taking the stage in the Hamptons instead. Shuter reports that John performed an exclusive one-hour set. He turned up at Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Dr. Dana Blumberg’s Fourth of July party.

An insider revealed that the singer “got his full fee” for this gig. They added that he even got “everything else he wanted.” John was reportedly dressed in a canary yellow suit for his exclusive performance in the Hamptons. Moreover, a custom red piano was also flown in just for the event.

Similarly, there were also rumors surrounding why Lady Gaga did not perform at the wedding, and it was reported that Bezos said no to the fee she was asking for. Shuter previously claimed in a report that the singers asked for $6 million each for a single night.

The businessman reportedly refused to pay the $12 million price tag for the performers. However, the Daily Mail learned from a source that Gaga “never” had a “real deal” to begin with.
