Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s legal case over their French winery is reportedly getting heated by the day. According to a latest report, Pitt has requested the inclusion of private communications from Jolie in the dispute over Château Miraval. The “Fight Club” actor had filed a lawsuit against Jolie in February 2022. He claims Jolie sold her share of the winery without his approval.

PEOPLE obtained the court documents for the winery case, claiming Brad Pitt filed paperwork against Angelina Jolie on June 30. In the filing, Pitt said he tried to depose Alexey Oliynik of Stoli Group. The company participated with Jolie in the 2021 sale of the winery. The actor accused Oliynik of knowing important details about Jolie’s sale of Château Miraval to Tenute del Mondo. In February 2022, Pitt claimed Jolie and he had previously agreed that neither would sell the property without mutual consent.
Jolie responded with a countersuit in September 2022. She claimed Pitt had been “waging a vindictive war against” her since their 2016 split. In his latest filing, Pitt’s legal team said Oliynik refused to provide documents or appear for a deposition. However, Oliynik countered, saying Pitt cannot force him to do so because he lives in Switzerland.
Pitt’s legal team wrote in the filing, “These requests go directly to key allegations about Pitt’s objections to the sale.” The tabloid added that they “easily meet the standard for discoverability given Pitt’s allegations that Jolie acted with malice in selling to Stoli, a counterparty she knew Pitt opposed.”
Jolie’s legal team said in court documents that Pitt refused to buy her out of the winery unless she signed a non-disclosure agreement “designed to force her silence about his abuse and cover-up.” The “Eternals” actor claimed Pitt was abusive, leading to an investigation. However, no charges were filed, and Jolie did not press charges.
Following the couple’s settlement, a source close to Jolie told PEOPLE, “Sadly, until he drops his lawsuit, this family will not have the peace and healing they so very much desire and deserve.” Another source close to Brad Pitt said Angelina Jolie’s actions have caused “tremendous collateral damage to those in and around the family,” and their winery case only added fuel to the fire.
