Bachelor in Paradise is back and bigger than ever before. After a two-year break, BIP Season 10 is now introducing several franchise firsts. Season 10 is the first season to include contestants from The Golden Bachelor franchise, alongside the younger Bachelor Nation members. In addition, Season 10 is the first season to film at a Costa Rican resort, as opposed to the usual beach in Mexico.

The premiere of BIP Season 10 exceeded expectations and introduced positive changes following a rough few seasons. After the premiere, Season 10 has the potential to be one of the show’s best seasons yet!

The new location and polished format makes Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 more enjoyable to watch

While some viewers missed the old BIP location, the new format has made significant improvements to the show. The first nine seasons of BIP were filmed at the same beach in Mexico. While the beach was nostalgic, it was run down. There was no air conditioning, the housing was flimsy, and there weren’t many places to have a private chat.

The new location fixes all of these problems. Instead of living together in cramped rooms, the cast are staying in air-conditioned hotel rooms. The resort also offers plenty of space for personal conversations without interference from others. This new format allows the cast to comfortably focus on finding love, without worrying about problems like no air conditioning or privacy.

In addition to the new location, the editing this season is also a huge improvement. While the older BIP seasons were edited more casually, the premiere of Season 10 was edited professionally. This was an important change, as it helps BIP stand out when competing with other summer dating shows like Love Island.

Another great aspect of the Season 10 premiere was the starting cast. Typically, BIP seasons begin with the majority of men and women being from the most recent Bachelor Nation seasons. In the past, this has caused cliques to form and has left cast members from older seasons feeling out of place.

Season 10, however, did a good job of balancing the cast during the premiere. The premiere featured women from three different seasons of The Bachelor as well as men from three different seasons of The Bachelorette. Furthermore, the premiere featured men and women from a wide range of ages and ethnic backgrounds.

The BIP Season 10 premiere also included contestants from various placements in their respective seasons. For instance, Zoe McGrady and Jonathan Johnson both placed third on their seasons. On the other hand, contestants like Bailey Brown and Hakeem Moulton were sent home during week three. It’s important to give contestants who were eliminated earlier a chance as well, so it was nice to see a good amount of them during the premiere.

There is already the potential for several strong couples to come out of BIP Season 10

During the premiere, several strong couples already began to form. The most solid couple at the moment is Jess Edwards and Spencer Conley. Jess and Spencer hit it off immediately and bonded over trauma in their past relationships. Despite Sam McKinney taking Jess on a date, she ultimately chose to give her rose to Spencer. Typically the strongest BIP couples emerge in the first few episodes, so Jess and Spencer could end up being THE couple of Season 10.

Another strong pairing from the premiere was Kat Izzo and Dale Moss. This was a surprising couple but it’s clear that there’s a lot of chemistry between them. Dale took Kat out on a yacht date where sparks flew between them. After the date, neither Kat nor Dale seemed interested in exploring connections with anyone else.

While the other four initial couples had strong connections as well, they weren’t as solid as these two. Of course, as more singles enter the beach, more strong couples can potentially form. For the time being, however, BIP Season 10 is off to an excellent start!

Bachelor in Paradise is available to stream on Hulu.
