Season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County has been stormy for Katie Ginella. She is on the outs with many of her RHOC co-stars. Filming Shannon Beador without her knowledge, while she was having a meltdown, was a major strike against her. However, Katie also has an interesting backstory. What do we know about Andrew Sundseth, Real Housewives of Orange County star Katie Ginella’s ex-husband?
Katie and her ex-husband, Andrew, share three children: Gavin, Max, and Kaili. They settled their divorce in 2016, but it didn’t end there. Originally, Andrew was awarded legal and primary physical custody of the children. Katie had visitation rights. Although Katie made less money, she still had to pay Andrew child support.
Then, Katie filed court papers to modify the custody arrangement in 2018. She alleged that Andrew was acting emotionally abusive to their children, calling them derogatory names. As a result, Katie requested legal and primary physical custody of all three children, and that she no longer pay child support.
So, Andrew filed a countersuit claiming that Katie hadn’t been paying her child support in full. Andrew also alleged that his ex forged his signature on student loan applications. He requested that Katie be thrown in jail until she paid the back child support and fixed the legal issues arising from the paperwork. For her part, Katie denied ever forging Andrew’s signature.
In 2019, the child support payments were terminated, and Katie was awarded primary custody of Kaili. Meanwhile, Andrew remained the primary custodian of their sons.
However, more about Katie and Andrew’s past surfaced. In 2015, the police were called to Andrew and Katie’s residence because of an altercation at their home. Andrew accused Katie of infidelity. According to the police report, no charges were filed, and Katie left the residence until the following day.
