We all know how much breakups suck – even if you do have stacks of cash to dry your tears on. Paris Jackson is apparently struggling to come to terms with her failed engagement to Justin Long, and is turning to her famous family for help.
Paris Jackson has turned to aunt LaToya Jackson in her time of need
Paris inadvertently confirmed her breakup on X on July 31. Replying to a post with a photo of her crying that alleged she was upset over the anniversary of dad Michael’s death, she said “those are breakup tears”. The singer-songwriter had been dating music producer Justin Long since 2022. They announced their engagement in December 2024.
With the self-confessed “Thom Yorke wannabe” struggling to move on, her close family is rallying around her. Her aunt LaToya Jackson, as well as brothers Prince and Bigi, are trying to put the smile back on her face. A source close to Paris told RadarOnline: “LaToya is keeping a careful eye on her, but it’s going to take a long time for her to get over this.”
There’s potentially good reason her multi-millionaire aunt is concerned. Paris, 27, has been open about her previous substance abuse issues. In an Instagram post, she celebrated her fifth year of sobriety. She described herself as “an alcoholic and a heroin addict”. With such a seemingly sudden end to her engagement, it’s not a huge surprise that those closest to her want to keep an eye on her.
While it’s not clear what caused the breakup, her pal claimed she has “trust issues”. It wasn’t that long ago that the musician appeared blissfully loved up with her beau. Their most recent photo on Instagram – posted on July 18 – shows them enjoying a romantic trip to the lake. Ex-fiancé Justin is a music producer and engineer.
