Chris Martin Gives Update on Kiss Cam’s Future at Coldplay Shows After Viral CEO Moment

Following the viral CEO moment, Chris Martin playfully spoke about the kiss cam’s future at one of the recent Coldplay shows. He addressed the issue at Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour stop in England. During the show, the frontman assured that he has no plans to ditch the cam during his future shows.

Chris Martin reportedly assured Coldplay kiss cam is here to stay

Many fans might have been expecting Chris Martin to let go of the kiss cam at his future shows following the viral kiss cam debacle at his Massachusetts concert. The jumbotron spotted former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s former HR chief, Kristin Cabot, enjoying his show. However, the musician has clarified that the kiss cam is here to stay.

According to HullLive, Martin talked about the viral moment with his fans at the Music of the Spheres World Tour stop in Hull, England, on Monday. The singer cheekily addressed the incident and talked about the kiss cam’s future. Referring to using the kiss cam as a way of interacting with fans, he said that they have been “doing this a long time,” and only “recently” it stirred a controversy.

Despite the aftermath, the 48-year-old assured that the video camera would still be used at every show. The musician assured his fans, saying, “Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.”

Martin’s kiss cam became viral after the band’s concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. It was on July 16 when the kiss cam selected two people from the audience who had their arms wrapped around each other. Soon after the camera captured them, the two ducked and hid their faces from the camera, making Martin say that “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

It was later reported that the duo was former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and ex-HR head Kristin Cabot. Their actions on the kiss camera instantly went viral and became the talk of the town. Following this, fans expected that the video camera might no longer be part of Coldplay concerts. Now, the lead singer has clarified that the camera will very much be part of all his shows.
