Orville Peck may be known for wearing a face mask, but he’s definitely not shy about showing skin from the neck down. The country singer shared shirtless some behind the scenes snaps from the Street Fighter movie on Instagram. It’s fair to say they were warmly received.
Orville Peck will remain masked up as Vega in the Street Fighter movie
Orville Peck is set to make his acting debut in the new Street Fighter movie. The country music star is bringing the character Vega to life in the live-action adaptation of the iconic video game. Orville, real name Daniel Pitout, took to Instagram yesterday to share some photos from the set.
He can be seen with long(ish) blond hair and a snake tattoo, both characteristics of the Vega character. There’s another big hint in the photos – the presence of a mask. There’s been speculation online as to whether or not the singer will wear his trademark mask in the movie. If these behind the shots are anything to go by, the mask will make an appearance. It’s not yet clear, however, whether the mask in the Instagram shots is the final piece, or a substitute for the larger white mask Vega wears.
Speaking of his decision to wear a mask, the South African told People: “I grew up loving country where there was an intersection between theatricality and very honest songwriting. Dolly’s a perfect example—the big wigs, the crazy outfits, but it’s her. For me, I was obsessed with the Lone Ranger, cowboys hiding their face, so that’s what I wanted to do.”
The actor, 37, has no issue stripping down in front of the camera. And hey, with a body like that, we’re not at liberty to stop him. His more risque photoshoots included a nearly-nude look for Paper magazine in 2024.
Street Fighter is expected to hit screens in 2026. Jason Momoa and Noah Centineo are also confirmed for the movie.
