Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt Major Feud Update (September 2025)

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been packed with messy friendships, social media shade, and more drama than anyone expected. Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt’s friendship has been one of the most explosive storylines since Season 1, and it only got worse when Season 2 aired earlier this year.

Fans saw their friendship crumble across episodes, TikToks, and Instagram posts. Now, after months of icy distance, Mikayla finally gave an update on where things stand.

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Mikayla and Whitney are back on good terms

On Sunday, September 7, Mikayla dropped an Instagram bombshell. “I apologize in advance for breaking the internet today,” she wrote. “I had to take ‘Momtok survived’ to a whole new level.”

She followed it up with a cheeky video scrolling through Whitney’s TikTok account before hitting the “follow back” button. Across the screen, Mikayla added the words “War is over” with a teary-eyed emoji. In the clip, she and husband Jace Terry jumped in a circle while John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” played in the background.

It was a shocking move considering how bitter things had gotten. Mikayla had previously said she felt excluded by Whitney while battling health struggles, and their tension exploded during the Season 2 premiere.

At the July reunion, Whitney vented about Mikayla’s jabs online. She told host Nick Viall, “It’s so double standard. You just sat here and asked me, ‘Do you feel like you justify your actions based off of your feelings?’ Well, [Mikayla] is someone who constantly belittles me and hurts me. So is she justified in her feelings to treat me that way?”

Nick pressed both sides. At one point he asked Mikayla, “Why do you hate her so much?” She quickly shot back, “I don’t hate anyone. But, I just get annoyed. I can’t help it.”

The reunion ended with an awkward hug, and the two later posted funny TikToks together, which hinted that the ice was thawing. Now, with Mikayla’s follow-back, fans finally have confirmation that the feud is over – for now. Will Mikayla show up to cheer Whitney on as she competes on Dancing with the Stars? Time will tell.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returns to Hulu for Season 3 on Thursday, November 13.
