Prince William and Kate Middleton’s new home will reportedly receive security upgrades. Earlier, it was confirmed that the Prince and Princess of Wales would soon move to Windsor Great Park’s Forest Lodge.
They have been spending time and money on renovating the property, keeping their privacy and security in mind. Once the renovations are done, they will start living in their “forever home” with their three kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s ‘forever home’ sees renovations for privacy concerns
Prince William and Kate Middleton will soon leave their four-bedroom property of Adelaide Cottage and move to their new home, an eight-bedroom set. Being dubbed their “forever home,” Forest Lodge is located in Windsor Great Park, England. Currently, it is undergoing renovations for privacy concerns, as the couple has reportedly upgraded the security.
Mirror released photos of the mansion, showing what security measures are being taken while renovating it. The future king and queen are seemingly planting a lot of new trees and hedgerows, along with high fences, around the luxurious estate. It is apparently to prevent the public from having a direct view of their home.
According to the outlet, the house’s drone-view picture showed scaffolding to its left. Moreover, interior designers and painters seemed to be busy renovating the royals’ abode from the inside. As the property is not too old, only minor changes will reportedly be made.
In June, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council received redacted planning applications. The next month, they got permission for the slight renovations. Some of these internal and external changes include reformed floors and ceilings, and new doors and windows. Furthermore, Middleton was allegedly spotted buying furniture for her new home. The family of five might move by the end of this year.
Additionally, the couple seems to be bearing all the expenses of the renovations on their own. They will reportedly not seek the Sovereign Grant’s help to avoid a price hike for the taxpayers. Prince William and Kate Middleton will also pay the market rent for their new home, which is supposedly valued at $21 million.
